You're A Glittery,
brilliant, hard-cut diamond and sometimes when
i try
to touch you, i draw back fingers dripping blood
because of the edges on you.
but, oh! the fire inside you draws me. to be dancing
inside the flame that burns within you, i sometimes would
chance anything.
but the fire in a diamond is cold.
one forgets that in those moments of desire.
and i can only dance around you.
and the only thing that can cut a diamond, is another
diamond and i'm nothing but cubic zirconium at best.
so i dance and i yearn and i protect myself as best i can.
waiting with held breath for you to shatter at the first touch
of a brilliance greater than your own.
